1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Aculix Technologies LLP ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of Auryn ("the App"), available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
We are committed to your privacy. This policy is designed to be clear and transparent about what we collect, what we don't collect, and how we use the information we do have.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Images you upload: Photos transmitted to our AI processing pipeline solely to generate your requested output. We do not store, retain, log, or use your images beyond real-time processing. Images are never used for AI training of any kind.
- Subscription and purchase information: Payment is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment details. We may receive limited purchase metadata (e.g., subscription status, plan type) to manage your in-app credits.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Anonymised data about how the App is used, such as which filters are applied, session length, and crash reports. This data does not identify you personally and is used to improve the App.
- Device information: Basic device information such as operating system version and device type for diagnostic and compatibility purposes.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials unless you voluntarily contact us for support.
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not build user profiles or sell any data to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Process and return your image generation requests
- Manage your subscription and credit balance
- Improve the performance and stability of the App
- Respond to support inquiries if you contact us
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the App.
4. Image Processing and Third-Party AI Services
To generate AI-filtered images, the photos you upload are transmitted to a third-party AI infrastructure provider — OpenRouter — which routes the request to a third-party AI model — Google's Nano Banana model family (Nano Banana 1 and Nano Banana 2). These services process your image transiently to generate the output.
4.1 What Data Is Sent
When you tap "Try Now" on a filter, the following data is sent:
- The photo you selected or captured
- A text prompt describing the filter style you chose
- Anonymous technical metadata required by the API (e.g. request ID, model identifier)
No personally identifying information, account credentials, location data, contact data, or device identifiers are sent alongside your image.
4.2 Who the Data Is Sent To
- OpenRouter (operated by OpenRouter, Inc.) — acts as the API gateway and routes the request to the AI model provider. OpenRouter does not retain images submitted through its API. See: openrouter.ai/privacy
- Google (operator of Nano Banana models, served through Google's AI infrastructure) — performs the actual AI image generation. 4.3 Why the Data Is Shared
Your image is shared with these third parties for one purpose only: to generate the AI-filtered image you requested. No other use is made of the data by Aculix Technologies LLP or by the third-party providers.
4.4 Third-Party Privacy Practices
We have selected providers whose data practices align with our commitment to user privacy. Neither OpenRouter nor Google retains your images after the request completes, and neither uses your images for AI model training. We confirm that these third parties provide protections for your data that are equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy for the purposes of image processing.
No images you upload are used to train any AI model — by us, by OpenRouter, or by Google.
5. Face Data
Because Auryn applies AI filters to photos that may contain faces, the images you upload may contain face data (the visual representation of a face, including facial features and expressions). We treat face data with the highest level of care.
5.1 Face Data Is Not Retained
We do not retain face data. The photo you upload — and any face data it contains — exists only for the duration of the real-time image generation request. As soon as the generated image is returned to your device, the input image is discarded. We do not store face data on our servers, in databases, in logs, or in any persistent form.
5.2 Third Parties We Share Face Data With
The only third parties that receive any image containing face data are the providers strictly necessary to process your image generation request:
- OpenRouter — receives the image only to route it to the AI model
- Google (Nano Banana model provider) — receives the image only to generate the AI output
5.3 Why Face Data Is Shared With These Third Parties
Face data is shared exclusively because the AI image generation cannot occur without the image being sent to the AI model. There is no other reason, and no other party with whom we share face data.
5.4 Third-Party Face Data Storage
Neither OpenRouter nor Google stores face data. Both providers process the image transiently to generate the output and discard it immediately after the request completes. Neither party retains face data beyond the duration of the request, and neither party uses face data for AI model training. We do not authorise, and our agreements with these providers do not permit, any retention or secondary use of face data.
5.5 No Biometric Identification
Auryn does not perform face recognition, face identification, or any biometric matching. The AI model uses facial features only to generate the requested artistic transformation and does not identify, catalogue, or match faces.
6. Consent Before Sharing Your Data
Before any image you select is sent to a third-party AI service, the App will present a one-time, clearly worded consent prompt that informs you:
- That the image you have selected will be sent to a third-party AI service for processing
- The names of the third parties (OpenRouter and Google's Nano Banana model)
- That the image will not be retained or used for AI training
No image is transmitted to any third party until you have provided your explicit consent through this prompt. You can revoke your consent at any time by stopping use of the AI filter features in the App.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not store your images or face data, there is nothing to delete on our end following the completion of your request.
Any anonymised usage analytics we retain are kept only for as long as necessary to serve their intended purpose.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We work with third-party providers (OpenRouter and Google, as described in Sections 4 and 5) strictly to operate the App. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations to us, and are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than processing your image generation request.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information transmitted through the App. All image data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
